I’ve been revealing a lot of book covers lately, and you might remember having seen this one. Mr Sagittarius by M J Mallon is now available to own, and I’m so excited to share this new book with you! The first month’s profits will be donated toward the Australian Bush Fire Charity.

I was privileged to design the cover for Mr Sagittarius and work with the lovely M J Mallon on its whimsical design. The author’s photography within the book helped to inspire her poetry, and it’s all contained quitely lovingly within a touching story.

Today, I am thrilled to host talented author and lovely friend, M J Mallon. I have had the good fortune of meeting Marje several times, and she is as kind and as friendly as her smile attests.

Marje is on book tour for the launch of her latest release:

Mr Sagittarius

A magical story expressed via poetry and prose with photographic images

Intrigued from the moment I first saw the title and cover and read the blurb, I was hooked.  Having pre-ordered it and read through it, I can tell you it is a beautifully created work and most delightful story.

So here it is…Mr Sagittarius!

Blurb

Who Is Mr. Sagittarius?

And what is his connection to twin brothers, Harold and William?

When Harold dies, he leaves a simple memorial request

Will his sister Annette honour it?

Or, will the magic of the garden ensure that she does.

Carrot Ranch Flash Fiction Challenge

Charli’s flash fiction challenge this week:

February 13, 2020, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story that includes a sugar report. Use its original meaning of a letter from a sweetheart to a soldier, or invent a new use for it. Go where the prompt leads!

Respond by February 18, 2020. Use the comment section below to share, read, and be social. You may leave a link, pingback, or story in the comments. If you want to be published in the weekly collection, please use the form.  Rules & Guidelines.

So I decided to invent a sugar letter for a prisoner who had taken the rap for his lover…

I’m missing you so much; the days are endless without you. Yesterday, I placed some flowers on Richard’s grave. The cold and I stood shivering by his gravestone. No one was around so I confessed everything. By the time I’d finished, it was getting dark and the tombstones were getting darker.

I feel so guilty with you in prison. Passion drove us to his mess. I wish I’d stuck with Richard’s humdrum, instead of going for your sugar kisses. But, I’d murder again for one sweet kiss.

February 13: Flash Fiction Challenge

Hope you enjoyed… I seem to be drawn to murder at the moment. Lol.

By the way Charli did an awesome job of featuring me on my blog tour over at Carrot Ranch here’s the link to the post:

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 164 #SynonymsOnly

Love & Harmony were the prompt words this week.

For love I went for lust and passion! For harmony I chose balance and peacefully.

What are Haiku, Senryu and Tanka?

Remember: Senryu poems make the human, not the world around them, the subject of their creative endeavor. Humor and sarcasm are two of the most favorable elements in a Senryu and should deal with the human condition. Think about sexual matters, family relations, religion, politics, and anything that touches on the pain we experience through sorrow, prejudice, oppression, anger, and frustration. Senryu do not deal in sentimentality.

I haven’t written any Senryu before so here goes… I’ve written three…

Lusty lips

Pouted

The Viagra

Swallowed

Peacefully

Downed in one

His lust overwhelmed

He was so fit

Did the splits

Balanced on one leg

Our mismatched passion

Made me quiet

Depleted

My balance

Broken

Well, that was a strange one! The Senryu encouraged me to play with words to come up with some unusual results!
