Three Year Anniversary!!!

My Third YearBlogANNIVERSARY

Yes, its official my baby Kyrosmagica turned three this week! Where did those years go? Now that I’m past the infancy stage I’m puzzled. I have no idea where that time went. I can’t really say… but what I can say is this, I have enjoyed these years mightily and have grown so much as a person. Forget Popeye’s spinach, blogging has been amazing for my confidence. I’d recommend it to everyone!

In fact, one of my recent posts has been featured in SCBWI’s online magazine – self publishing discussion with authors Debra Edwards and Camilla Chester: Words and Pictures.

Recently, I set up a new initiative on Facebook – my Authors/Bloggers Rainbow Support Club.  I have a new baby! It’s doing well and I can see it growing which is lovely.

What is is about?

Don’t worry it is not a cult! LOL… It is a friendly community of authors/bloggers/book reviewers working together to support each other in a multitude of ways – e.g. by writing or sharing reviews, highlighting author spotlights/book launches/interviews, and posting writing/poetry/blogging tips, or tips about writing reviews, or discussing general topics of interest.

DON’T FEEL THAT YOU HAVE TO DO ALL OF THESE!!!! LOL!!

Also, I hope that it will be a place that you can ask for help and advice if you need it. Writing can be isolating so feel free to find some writing chums here. Just join in as and when you can. Any content about books is really welcome whether it is pretty pictures of books you’ve read, or libraries you’ve visited, etc. Also occasionally do feel free to post news to tell your blogging friends what you are up to. Especially, if you’ve just published a book, won a prize, been nominated for an award, or you’ve been somewhere creative, interesting, or exciting! For instance, I posted my British Museum photos which I had uploaded using Ripl, which I thought might be of interest to fellow Instagram enthusiasts.

Thank you to all the contributors and to my fabulous Administrators: Colleen Chesebro and Debby Gies.

So that’s it for now, I have to read through my manuscript. I’m on the final push, this baby is past the toddler stage – she has to stop her tantrums!

Before I go I’d like to invite you to celebrate with me. I’ve got a little question which you might like to answer below… How long have you been blogging, and what has it done for you? Please feel free to leave your answer and one link that you’d like to highlight in the comments below. Many thanks.

Bye for now,

Marje @ Kyrosmagica

Hi. Welcome to my blog: M J Mallon - Kyrosmagica Publishing. A blog about magic, books, writing, laughter, and much more! I'm a YA fantasy author, poet and reviewer. My first YA fantasy novel The Curse of Time - Book 1 - Bloodstone is set in Cambridge and Book 2 - Golden Healer is now out too. As well as this, I have contributed to several anthologies, created my own with some amazing international writers, bloggers and creatives during the pandemic: This Is Lockdown and written two poetry collections: Lockdown Innit Poems About Absurdity & Mr. Sagittarius Poetry and Prose. I write book reviews on my blog and on Goodreads, book bub and on my bookstagram. I have a penchant for travel and have relatives in far flung places, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore, (my birthplace.) I grew up in in Bonnie Scotland, in Edinburgh, and now live in Cambridge. I love sunny, hot places, particularly Rome, Venice, Portugal, Barcelona, and I forgot to mention the sun drenched beaches of the Caribbean, how could I? I am lucky to have been blessed with two lovely daughters and a husband who I fondly refer to in this blog as my black sheep. Family joke! With my passion for travel, culture, beautiful beaches, good food, books, theatre, writing, and humour, I hope to keep you entertained. I'm loving every minute of this creative journey, please join me.

  1. Happy Anniversary Marjorie and thank you for all the mentions it is wonderful.. I have been neglectful of your terrific group on Facebook and will remedy that. I have been blogging since October 2013 and I can honestly say that this is one of the best jobs I have had. I get to meet amazing writers and artists, write every day with instant feedback, time to write my own stories and books and it is something I can do until I slip under whichever gate I end up, with a glass in one hand and a keyboard in the other.. Cheers.. enjoy the day.

Since Oct 2013 you’re a bit ahead of me… I can’t wait to retire so I can devote 100% of my time to writing and blogging! And yes it is something one can do until you reach the pearly or not so pearly gates! Cheers my dear. xx

  4. I am going on a year and a half. I started blogging because I love to read and talk about books. I also had a novel I wanted to write and thought it would get hose creative juices flowing. It did! My novel is finished and I’m still blogging. This year I’ve added some more personal posts to my blog so people can get to know me better.

  5. Congratulations, Marje! Since so many good things come in threes, a 3-year anniversary is a milestone. I don’t post to my blog every day, but I do try to support fellow authors and share articles of interest. Our blogging community is fantastic. We’ve created our own little island under the sun. I’ve had a few setbacks in my life since you started the Authors/Bloggers Rainbow Support Club, and I haven’t been able to visit and post. Hopefully, that will soon change. Thank you for all you do, my friend ❤

  6. Many congratulations on the 3rd anniversary of your blog, Marje.

I’ve been blogging for just over 3 years. However, the anniversary passed me by without me remembering it. Not even a reminder or notification from WordPress! Never mind, I’ll have a drink this evening to celebrate both our blogs turning three years old.

Looking forward to seeing you at The Bloggers Bash.

    1. That’s strange that you didn’t receive a reminder or notification from WordPress shame on them! How nice that you’re having a drink to celebrate both our blogs turning three I’ll join you too. Happy Bloganniversary to you too Hugh. 🙂

  7. Happy Blog-O-Versary! 😀 … I’ve been blogging for upwards of … umm … lemme check … wow! 27th September 2010!
Among many things blogging always reminds me to get back to my keyboard if I stray too far.

  9. Congratulations on three years, Marje! Your blog is a fine example of what makes blogging sustainable. You share others’ posts, you engage and you offer your expertise by utilizing social networking. Although I started a blog on WordPress in 2011, I changed it drastically and really started consistently blogging in September 2014. It has been the best thing I have ever done because of the friendships/relationships I’ve developed, as well as being regarded as a writer and getting bitten by the self-publishing bug 🙂 Happy Anniversary!

  10. Congratulations Marje, and thank you, Sally, for sharing. How lucky we all are and grateful to have our offerings shared all over the world. I probably will never meet any of you face to face but still feel a kinship with all my followers. I am humbled by the generosity of my followers and people who have read my book and visit my blog daily and then share my work with others. I am truly blessed to be included in this wonderful group. Thank you. ☺☺☺
