Welcome to my blog: M J Mallon - Kyrosmagica Publishing. A blog about magic, books, writing, laughter, and much more! I'm a YA fantasy author, poet and reviewer. My first YA fantasy novel The Curse of Time - Book 1 - Bloodstone is set in Cambridge and Book 2 - Golden Healer is now out too. As well as this, I have contributed to several anthologies, created my own with some amazing international writers, bloggers and creatives during the pandemic: This Is Lockdown and written two poetry collections: Lockdown Innit Poems About Absurdity & Mr. Sagittarius Poetry and Prose. I write book reviews on my blog and on Goodreads, book bub and on my bookstagram. I have a penchant for travel and have relatives in far flung places, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore, (my birthplace.) I grew up in in Bonnie Scotland, in Edinburgh, and now live in Cambridge. I love sunny, hot places, particularly Rome, Venice, Portugal, Barcelona, and I forgot to mention the sun drenched beaches of the Caribbean, how could I? I am lucky to have been blessed with two lovely daughters and a husband who I fondly refer to in this blog as my black sheep. Family joke! With my passion for travel, culture, beautiful beaches, good food, books, theatre, writing, and humour, I hope to keep you entertained. Olive Cotton –
A photographer whose work straddles pictorialism, modernism and documentary, Cotton maintained an independent vision throughout her working life, based on the close observation of nature. Contrary to popular belief the White Peacock is my Friday Favourite image from http://www.pixabay.com. I’m standing up for the understated proud bearing of the White Peacock. Very unique. The guy below is doing his best to make him feel a bit like a delicate bundle of suspended cotton wool, appealing in a fluffy sort of way, but is the iridescent peacock stealing all of the attention? Mr Colourful. Come on, white’s cool too. Huh Mr Show Off!

Over the next while, I’m experimenting with pricing. There are many factors that go into setting a price for a book. After much research, I’m dropping the price of Stranger at Sunset from $4.99 to 99 cents for a limited time. This sale will only be available on Amazonand is effective immediately.

It’s great to connect and support fellow bloggers, hope you like the unusual picture! I found it on Pixabay, quite by chance, and I glad I did. These Supertrees of Singapore are weird and wonderful enormous structures. Apologies for going off topic a bit Elsie but these trees are just so awesome that I thought I would add them to the end of this One Lovely Blog Award post. Singapore, the land of my birth, has the biggest per person carbon footprint per person in the Asia Pacific area, and it is hoped that the Supertrees will raise awareness of the environment. Singapore aims to reduce its carbon emissions by at least 10% by the year 2020. More details via this link. What Breed of Cat Are You? It came up with Scottish Fold, a cute breed with folded ears, silver fur and yellow eyes. The Scottish Fold’s little ears give it an owl like appearance. They are loving, good natured, and playful! Folds are also known for sitting with their legs stretched out and their paws on their belly in the “Buddha Position.”

The Scottish Fold is featured in-depth in the short novel, The Cat Who Went to Paris by Peter Gethers. Fiction
In the 2012 novel The Bone Bed, Kay Scarpetta rescues a Scottish Fold cat from a murder victim’s home. She brings her home to meet the greyhound rescued in an earlier novel. They apparently get along well.
In the Anime series Beyond The Boundary, the Youmu form of the Anime-exclusive character Ai Shindo is a two-tailed Scottish Fold cat.
In 2009, Maru, a Scottish Fold cat, became an Internet sensation due to his obsession with boxes. Due to his Internet popularity, several commercials have been produced featuring the cat.
Popular YouTube bloggers, Simon and Martina aka Eatyourkimchi acquired a Scottish Fold kitten, Dr. Meemersworth, in July 2012.
“Waffles” is the name of a Scottish Fold cat, featured on the Facebook page “Waffles The Cat”. The page has over 440,000 likes as of July 2014.
