This is my flash fiction piece for Carrot Ranch’s prompt Valentine’s!

Damages, broken limbs, a most unusual valentines – the poor restaurant didn’t stand a chance!
We squeezed into a corner next to a giant sized Valentine’s chocolate egg, exquisitely wrapped in pink, shiny wrapping.
My daughter nearly toppled it over with a careless swipe of her crutches. I can just see the look on the waitress’s face, a real shocker, Halloween horror expression.
Luckily, the prize-winning egg was saved.
We chose the Valentine’s menu but we stayed off the wine.
It was a long way back on crutches and we were terrified she might break more bones or chocolate!

I write book reviews on my blog and on Goodreads, book bub and on my bookstagram. I have a penchant for travel and have relatives in far flung places, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore, (my birthplace.) I grew up in in Bonnie Scotland, in Edinburgh, and now live in Cambridge. I love sunny, hot places, particularly Rome, Venice, Portugal, Barcelona, and I forgot to mention the sun drenched beaches of the Caribbean, how could I? I am lucky to have been blessed with two lovely daughters and a husband who I fondly refer to in this blog as my black sheep. Family joke! With my passion for travel, culture, beautiful beaches, good food, books, theatre, writing, and humour, I hope to keep you entertained. I'm loving every minute of this creative journey, please join me.

Your poor daughter, Marje. At least the Valentine’s dinner went off without something else breaking. 🙂

Yes that was fortunate. It was a tough first year at university for her. She is still prone to fainting due to low blood pressure but luckily hasn’t broken anything else.

She almost took out the egg with a swipe of the crutches! I’d likely be the same haha 😉 Fun flash, MJ!
