For All Cat Lovers

Such an amusing story from Jack Eason about cats. A must read for cat lovers!

In the world of the domestic cat, the one thing that is guaranteed to get you in trouble in the neighbourhood is the name your human owner gives you.

Hobson opened his eyes, yawned, stretched and sat up before meticulously grooming his fur and licking his battle wounds.

Since he and his human Geoff had moved into the neighbourhood six weeks back, Hobson literally had to fight for his life almost continuously. His battle scarred ears and the missing fur on his back, along with the severely bitten end of his tail bore testament to the daily scrapping Hobson had to endure.

“Breakfast, come and get it,” Geoff yelled above the noise of the food-blender, which was mashing up his daily liquid energy diet before his morning run.

Hobson scampered down the hallway to the kitchen from where he slept on the end of Geoff’s bed. As usual his human…

Lisa Burton

Welcome everyone. Turn down the lights, find your silver bells, and possibly a crystal that speaks to you. You might want to light a candle or two. This is Lisa Burton Radio, and I’m your host Lisa the robot girl.

My special guest today is living under some unusual circumstances, but we’ll let her tell us about them. “Welcome to the show, Amelina Scott.”

“Hi Lisa. I’m so excited about this, a chance to tell my story to a robot girl, that’s beyond amazing!”

“I already mentioned that your living arrangement is a bit odd. Can you fill our listeners in a bit?”

“Yeah, my dad disappeared on my thirteenth birthday. Sorry, I find this difficult to talk about. It really hurts. I, I cope by writing my feelings down in poetry. I don’t like to talk about it… But for you I will …

“Dad’s vanishing was the weirdest…

Today, it is my pleasure to share some awesome news with you.

The Curse of Time Book 1 Bloodstone will shortly be out in paperback. I have hit the publish button on Createspace and the paperback should be on Amazon within 3 – 5 working days.

I will be having a super duper blog tour. It has already begun with a wonderful advanced reader’s review post on 30th March with Samantha Murdoch: https://samanthamurdochblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/30/review-the-curse-of-time-book-one-bloodstone-by-m-j-mallon/

Samantha made some amazing comments on her review so I created these Canva graphics:

She also sent me three lovely photos of her cats posing with The Curse of Time #1 Bloodstone which you can see above – Lily (who models for the black cat character in my book – Shadow,) Ting the Siamese and Charlie La Princesse.

The Authors/Bloggers Rainbow Support #ABRSC pre-release/release launch tour begins today on my mother’s birthday 2nd April.  I dedicated the book to my lovely mum and dad who’ve done so much to support and encourage me so it seemed fitting that I should choose that date to begin the process of launching my paperback.

Carolina Russo is my blog tour host today. Carolina has created some stunning portraits of two amazing characters in my book: Esme The Mirror Girl and The Creature of The Crystal Cottage (Eruterac.)

Please pop over to Carolina’s blog to see her beautifully presented post: https://yesterdayafter.com/2018/04/02/characters-illustration-a-collaboration-with-author-mj-mallon-1st-stop-blog-tour-abrsc/

Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Poetry Challenge No 77 : Charm and Time

This tanka is inspired by the two main characters in my novel – The Curse of  Time Book 1 Bloodstone, Amelina the main protagonist and the mysterious, unfathomable Ryder….

For time I used tempo and for charm bewitched.

We are having a baby girl!

A heartbeat’s tempo,

Bewitched am I, misled too,

Shadows invade me,

I struggle to break your spell,

I daren’t guess who you are.

Exciting News: Tomorrow is a very special day. It is the intended release date for my paperback so I’d love it if you pop over to my blog to celebrate with me.

#BookReview The Ghosts of Manor House by Matt Powers

IMG_20180319_093821_063

Goodreads Synopsis:

Edmund and Mary Wilder are very much in love. But the death of their young son, Tommy, has shattered their family. Edmund is determined to bring them back together, drawing on the only bit of strength he has left—his love for Mary and their daughter, Stephanie. But Mary sinks deeper into depression while little Stephanie’s anger grows. Edmund flounders in his attempts to rescue his family from the brink of collapse and doesn’t know where to turn.

Then Mary receives an invitation for the family to become guests at Manor House, a seemingly quaint Bed and Breakfast. This, she assures her husband, is the answer to all their troubles.

Edmund arrives ahead of his family to spend a couple days working on his long-delayed novel. But his growing curiosity about the old house leads Edmund to an encounter that will change him forever.

What will you sacrifice for love?

An old fashioned psychological thriller with a nod to Stephen King, Manor House will keep you guessing and compel you to turn the page to the very end.

A mother will sacrifice anything for her children. A husband will risk everything to save his wife. Manor House will take them all

My review:

I won a copy of Ghosts of Manor House from author, Matt Powers in exchange for a review but this does not influence my review, all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed Ghosts of Manor House. It’s the type of ghost story that works in a psychological way playing to your greatest fears: the fear of a child dying, the fear of your family, sister, children being in danger. The prologue captured my attention immediately and the epilogue likewise was excellent. Altogether, a very readable book written in an appealing style with no flowery language or gimmicks. It is simply a good book packed in a remarkably small package! Definitely recommended reading.

My rating: 4 stars.

I was so engrossed reading Ghosts of Manor House that I started seeing ghosts and creepy things in my mug. I shared a few photos on Instagram but this one is the one that really freaked me out the most…

20180316_130645

See what I mean! When this happens it’s kind of weird but in a WOW this book is really affecting me way! Can you see the face in the mug? Those fingers? That hand? Or can you see something else?

Beware! Ghosts of Manor House might have unexpected spooky effects on the residue of your tea!

Have you read Ghosts of Manor House? Are you going to? Dare you to!

WHY GET INVOLVED IN THE BLOGGERS BASH AWARDS?

General-Bash-Logo-e1502828276518The Annual Bloggers Bash returns this May for its fourth year, but the committee don’t run this event just because they fancy a day out in London! ‘There was so much food for thought at the Annual Bloggers Bash Awards event in London last Saturday that I came away positively bursting at the seams.

Between the presentations and celebrations of the awards, there were very interesting talks by Suzie and Elena on how to monetize our blogs and make good use of Pinterest. With around four decades of training experience, military and technical…
