RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge Review 49

Thrilled that my haiku Monkey Says won the humour choice last week, thank you so much Ron. I love writing humorous haiku! I find it so much more difficult to write serious haiku, so well done to the winner of the serious choice haiku, Melissa Barker-Simpson (Author): Incessant Chatter. Hats off to you. Take a look at Ronovan’s review list of wonderful haiku bloggers there are so many to choose from, all so good.

You will notice I am late. Also only half or the Haiku have comments with them. I hope I at least saw all the links on the challenge post. I wasn’t able to go hunting for Haiku this time around. I don’t normally give reasons for lateness but since I also don’t have comments with some, I feel one is in order. Saturday was my birthday and I went to a movie for the first time in two years. Good movie, disastrous results. Then I had to go to my parents for Father’s Day. Combine the two and I have been in bed most of the weekend with a very extreme migraine and various Fibromyalgia pains.

Next week we’ll be back to normal with the review. As for the photo? In case anyone wondered that’s actually my mouth. I just painted using samples of the colors from a photo with…

Haiku Poetry Prompt challenge #49 Lock & Gab

challenge-49

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #49 Lock&Gab

Time for another Poetry Prompt Challenge from Ronovan Writes. If you haven’t joined in the fun well I would highly recommend you do!

Well this time I’ve added a link to a bit of my writing at the bottom of this post, as the prompts were just so me! All comments haiku and writing related would be most gratefully received. Or just come and have a gabber. Either ways I’d love a chit chat.

Oh, these prompts, what can I say? Ron really knows how to come up with great challenge words. Lock, I love it. It just conjures up mysterious, hidden places, and gab well there’s nothing like a good old chatter, unless of course monkey thinks it’s getting out of hand!

I found these particular prompts very inspiring. I wrote about a secret key in one of my chapters of my first manuscript, here’s a link to my writing extract: https://atomic-temporary-67364188.wpcomstaging.com/2015/06/18/writing-extract-the-mystery-of-the-talking-key/

If you like this tiny sample of my writing please do let me know. I’d appreciate that so much. Thanks. x

Haiku Poetry prompt Challenge #48 Inspire & Loss

challenge481

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #48 Inspire&Loss

Inspire and Loss – what a wonderful pairing, I’m going to enjoy this weeks Haiku Challenge from Ronovan Writes.

It’s funny how a couple of words can take you on a strange journey, into a surreal picnic setting with a tree,  a floating piece of grass, and a kite attached to the tree. Oh and a passionate kiss, nearly forgot that! How could I? If this loved up couple move an inch on their picnic playground there’s a chance they will fall of their half bubble of perfectly maintained grass. Never mind that kite, they should have tethered themselves to the tree as well, just in case, you can never be too careful! But passion doesn’t tend to go hand in hand with caution does it? Nope, it sure doesn’t. Oops…..

Sad Loss My Kite Boy

Moving on from the loss of Kite Boy, let’s take a moment to reflect on this still life. After Kite Boy’s gone I think the peacock feather will be plucked, colour dashed, so sad……………

WELCOME TO KYROSMAGICA

Let’s indulge in a bit of Haiku Heaven this Friday, and where better to start this creative process than Ronovan Write’s weekly Haiku Challenge.

In this modern age when tweets can mean more than bird sounds this kind of ruffled my bird feathers, so I came up with a tweeting haiku I do hope you like it!

Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge, Think # 46, Fresh

challenge46

https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/2015/05/25/ronovanwrites-weekly-haiku-poetry-prompt-challenge-46-think-fresh/
So the challenge words this week from Ronovan are Think and Fresh.

Well let me see………………………..

I couldn’t come up with a serious one this week, somehow think and fresh just didn’t lead me down that path. In fact I’d say that these two prompt words took me to some rather strange places. Sorry failed miserably, on the plus side I came up with two funny ones instead!

This one is really dark humour/weird, so apologies in advance:

Haiku Prompt Challenge #45 Pitch & Time

challenge451

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #45 Pitch&Time

I like the combination of these two challenge words.

Pitch could be lots of things, pitching a tent, perfect pitch of voice, a pitcher of juice, a football pitch, and time’s such a fine word to conjure up all sorts of mysterious ideas.

Here’s my funny one:

justice-423446__180

A thief’s fun day out

Perfect pitch Sunday car boot

Time to weigh the loot

Here’s my serious one:

Gone, cancer robbed, deleted

Time’s sweet song silent

Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge#44 Charge & Lovers

haiku-44

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #44 Charge&Lovers

So a new prompt this week from Ronovan Writes: Charge and Lovers, an interesting combination. I wonder what I can come up with?

Here goes,  a funny one, no worries this time Ron, no more tomato balloons exploding, I promise! But, I couldn’t resist the redness of the hearts in amongst the frozen gold coins.

Cash Desk Woes

heart-693802__180

Frozen cash desk woes

Preposterous charge overflows

Poor lovers tiff grows

My attempt at a more serious offering, this is difficult!

Lover’s Staff

fight-36781__180

Lover’s purple staff

A battle locked last embrace

Killing life’s sweet flame

Why does everything end up sounding ridiculous? Well, I reckon it’s because I find a cute picture and the seriousness gets lost, oh and I have a tendency to be a bit prone to silliness, I suppose, guilty your honour!!!

Here’s my funny one:

What a messy thought

A serious One:

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #41 Want&Tatters

Another fine prompt from Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku prompt challenge.

This time I thought I’d dedicate my Haiku to the 150th Anniversary of The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland so here goes:

She wants Wonderland dreaming

For some reason I found this week’s haiku especially hard, the words wants and tatters were alluding me somewhat but anyway had a go. Tried my best.
